Comparative metagenomics reveals alterations in the soil bacterial community driven by N-fertilizer and Amino 16® application in lettuce

چکیده
Nutrients in the form of fertilizers and/or other additives such as amino acids, dramatically influence plant development and growth, plant nutrient composition and the level of soil pollution. Moreover, the treatment of soil microbiota is emerging as a new strategy in plant breeding to achieve desirable traits. Thus, integrated study of fertilizer application and soil microbiota might lead to a better understanding of soil-plant interactions and inform the design of novel ways to fertilize plants. Herein we report metagenomics data for soil microbiota in lettuce (Lactuca sativa) treated with fertilizer, amino acids or their combinations as follows: N-fertilizer + Amino16®, Amino16®, N-fertilizer and no treatment control. Data have been deposited in the NCBI Sequence Read Archive (SRA) (accession number: PRJNA388765).

Uptake and nitrate accumulation affected by partial replacement of nitrate-N with different source of amino acids in spinach and lettuce
As natural plant growth stimulators, amino acids are widely used to improve the yield and quality of crops. Change in enzymes activities of N assimilation (NR, NiR and GS), residual nitrate (NO3-), soluble protein content, and yield of spinach and lettuce plants were investigated under replacing 20% nitrate-N in the nutrient solution by L-glycine and blood meal amino acids. Seeds of the mention...
متن کاملEscherichia coli contamination of lettuce grown in soils amended with animal slurry.
A pilot study was conducted to assess the transfer of Escherichia coli from animal slurry fertilizer to lettuce, with E. coli serving as an indicator of fecal contamination and as an indicator for potential bacterial enteric pathogens. Animal slurry was applied as fertilizer to three Danish agricultural fields prior to the planting of lettuce seedlings. At harvest, leaves (25 g) of 10 lettuce h...
متن کاملStem perimeter, height and biomass of maize (Zea mays L.) grown under different N fertilization regimes in Beijing, China
In this study, nitrogen fertilizer was applied to corn (Zea mays L.) at conventional (excessive) and recommended levels, and the growth response was assessed by measuring plant height and stem perimeter. Corn plant maximum height was observed in recommended rates of N fertilizer treatment, and the height without N fertilizer was the same as that receiving excess N fertilizer. Stem perimeter was...
متن کاملResponses of Bacterial Communities in Arable Soils in a Rice-Wheat Cropping System to Different Fertilizer Regimes and Sampling Times
Soil physicochemical properties, soil microbial biomass and bacterial community structures in a rice-wheat cropping system subjected to different fertilizer regimes were investigated in two seasons (June and October). All fertilizer regimes increased the soil microbial biomass carbon and nitrogen. Both fertilizer regime and time had a significant effect on soil physicochemical properties and ba...
متن کاملEffects of Manure Compost Application on Soil Microbial Community Diversity and Soil Microenvironments in a Temperate Cropland in China
The long-term application of excessive chemical fertilizers has resulted in the degeneration of soil quality parameters such as soil microbial biomass, communities, and nutrient content, which in turn affects crop health, productivity, and soil sustainable productivity. The objective of this study was to develop a rapid and efficient solution for rehabilitating degraded cropland soils by precis...
